What We Do

Every service below is permitted and inspected. No shortcuts that void your insurance or fail a home sale inspection.

EV Charger Installation

Level 2 charger installs — Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint Home Flex, Emporia, Grizzl-E. Circuit run from panel, NEMA 14-50 or hardwired. $750 – $3,000 depending on panel distance and capacity.

Panel Upgrade

100A to 200A service upgrades. Load calculations, permit filing, same-day scheduling in most SCC cities. Required before most EV charger installs in pre-1990 homes. $7,000 – $9,000 (standard); $8,000 – $15,000 with meter relocation.

FPE / Zinsco Panel Replacement

Federal Pacific Stab-Lok breakers fail to trip in up to 25% of overload events. Zinsco breakers can overheat and melt. Most Bay Area insurers won't renew policies on homes with these panels.

Knob & Tube Wiring Replacement

Pre-1940s wiring with no ground wire and degrading cloth insulation. Insurance carriers including State Farm, Allstate, and Farmers are actively canceling policies. We replace it with permits and inspections.

Aluminum Wiring Replacement

1960s–70s aluminum branch wiring is a documented fire risk at connection points. CPSC data shows 55× higher fire likelihood. We replace or remediate per NEC.

Whole House Rewire

Complete branch circuit replacement for end-of-life wiring in older SCC homes. New copper wiring, AFCI/GFCI protection, updated panel. Permits, rough-in inspection, and final sign-off included.

Pre-Sale Electrical Clearance

Eliminate the electrical inspection surprise before it delays your close. Written documentation of system condition — permits, inspection records, panel assessment — for your agent and buyer.

Emergency Electrician

Power out, sparking outlet, burning smell, tripped main. One phone call — answered by our team, not a call center. No voicemail during business hours.

Our Team. One Number. Our Team Accountable.

Most electrical contractors are dispatchers. They take your call, send whoever's available, and move on. We don't operate that way.

What Homeowners Say

★★★★★

He came and did our garage lights, now it's way brighter and the lights are flat to the wall which was pretty cool. 10/10, will definitely be recommending to my friends!

Common Questions

Residential Electrical FAQ

Do you pull permits for all residential electrical work?

Yes — Cali Rollin Electric pulls permits for all residential electrical work that legally requires one. As a licensed C-10 electrical contractor (License #1144031), we are authorized to pull electrical permits in Santa Clara County. Permits are required for panel upgrades, new circuit installations, EV charger installs, service upgrades, and new wiring. We handle the permit application, coordinate with the local building department, and ensure all work passes final inspection — so homeowners never have to navigate that process themselves.

Do you use subcontractors?

No — Cali Rollin Electric performs all electrical work with our own licensed team. We are a dedicated C-10 electrical contractor, not a general contractor who farms out electrical scopes. The team you meet for the estimate is the team doing the work. This matters because subcontracting creates accountability gaps — with us, there are none.

How quickly can you schedule a free estimate?

We offer free on-site estimates and work to schedule them as quickly as possible — typically within a few business days depending on current workload. Call us directly at (408) 614-4451 or email info@calirollinelectric.com to book. For routine residential work like panel assessments, outlet installs, or EV charger quotes, estimates are generally brief and can often be scheduled same-week.

Do you serve all of Santa Clara County?

Yes — Cali Rollin Electric serves all of Santa Clara County. Our service area covers San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Saratoga, Campbell, Milpitas, Los Altos, and Los Altos Hills.
